A filter is an excellent device installed on pipelines for conveying media. It is typically mounted at the inlet end of equipment such as pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves, constant water level valves, and other process filters. A filter consists of a cylinder body, a stainless steel filter screen, a sewage discharge component, a transmission device, and an electrical control component. When the water to be treated passes through the filter cartridge of the filter screen, impurities are trapped. When cleaning is required, it is only necessary to remove the detachable filter cartridge, handle (clean) it, and reinstall it. Therefore, its use and maintenance are extremely convenient.
A simple filter can be constructed by dividing a container into upper and lower chambers using a filter medium. The suspension is added to the upper chamber, and under pressure, it passes through the filter medium into the lower chamber to become filtrate, while solid particles are trapped on the surface of the filter medium to form filter residue (also called filter cake). During the filtration process, the layer of filter residue accumulated on the surface of the filter medium gradually thickens, which in turn increases the resistance for the liquid to pass through the filter residue layer, resulting in a decrease in filtration speed. When the filter chamber is filled with filter residue or the filtration speed becomes too low, filtration is stopped, the filter residue is removed, and the filter medium is regenerated to complete one filtration cycle.
